I received a Fulbright Fellowship from 2015-2016 to live and teach English at the Opštinsko Osnovno Učilište Goce Delčev, which is located in Belimbegovo/Ilinden in the Republic of (North) Macedonia. Shortly after my arrival, however, refugees from the Middle East, Central Asia, and Africa started crossing the border en masse from Greece. I was blessed to have the opportunity to work with and on their behalf for approximately four months before the Department of State rescinded my Fulbright. Although they have since removed all acknowledgment of my awarded fellowship, they started preparing the following year's recipients and continue to prepare recipients to work with and on behalf of refugees.
